Men Wanted
As I travelled along the road that leads to eternity, one single thought was often impressed upon my heart. I travelled, far and wide, hither and yon, and it seemed to me as I journeyed, that the world of Christendom was sadly lacking of men. We were lacking men with a vision, we lacked men of courage to fulfill visions, we lacked men of godly character to fight the good fight of faith, we lacked men who could stand in the gap, speak up against the foe and fight. We lacked men who could go against the flow when Christ would have. We lacked men who were filled with the Holy Spirit, we lacked men who could discern the Lord’s will. Far above and beyond all of this, we lack men who had the peace of God ruling in their hearts.
O brothers, sons of a living God, how this causes my heart to grieve! How can this great need be found among us? How is it that this dearth can be found among the children of God? Should not we be the men of courage, the men of renown? Should not we be the ones to fearlessly own the cause of Christ? Should not we be the ones to freely share the Word of God to a dry and thirsty land?
